Rebecca Bird operates as a sole trader providing independent celebrant services in Somerset and throughout the United Kingdom.

Services may include:

  • Wedding ceremonies

  • Funeral ceremonies

  • Memorial services

  • Naming ceremonies

  • Vow renewals

  • Other bespoke ceremonies

Booking Services

A booking is confirmed once:

  • Both parties agree to the service provided

  • Any required deposit has been received

  • Confirmation has been issued in writing

Dates cannot be guaranteed until confirmation is provided.

 

Payments

Payments are accepted by bank transfer unless otherwise agreed.

Invoices must be paid within the timeframe stated on the invoice or agreement.

Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of services.

 

Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate information

  • Respond to communications within reasonable timeframes

  • Provide ceremony details and approvals when requested

  • Ensure any required legal marriage formalities are completed separately where applicable

Independent celebrant ceremonies are not legally binding marriage ceremonies unless conducted alongside a legal registration.

 

Ceremony Content

Every effort will be made to create personalised ceremonies based on information provided by clients.

Clients are responsible for reviewing drafts and confirming accuracy before the ceremony date.

I reserve the right to refuse wording or content that is:

  • Offensive

  • Discriminatory

  • Defamatory

  • Illegal

  • Inappropriate for the ceremony setting

 

Cancellations and Refunds

If a client wishes to cancel a booking, notice should be provided in writing as soon as possible.

Any deposits paid may be non-refundable depending on work already completed and the proximity to the ceremony date.

Where possible, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule bookings.

If I am unable to perform the ceremony due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond my control, I will make reasonable efforts to assist in finding a replacement celebrant where possible. Liability will be limited to any fees already paid.

 

Photography and Testimonials

With client consent, photographs, testimonials, and reviews may be used for website and marketing purposes.

Clients may withdraw consent at any time by contacting me.

 

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rebecca Bird shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Website interruptions

  • Technical issues beyond reasonable control

  • Delays caused by third parties or unforeseen circumstances

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.
